Nababganj plants 300 palm seeds for the environment

A palm seed planting programme has been held in Dinajpur’s Nababganj to help protect environmental balance, increase greenery and guard against natural disasters. On Wednesday (September 16) afternoon, the upazila Ansar and VDP office organised the planting of 300 palm seeds along the roadside next to the Parharina Ansar and VDP club.

Those present included upazila Ansar and VDP officer Md Solaiman Hossain, instructors Chhatra Kumar Biswas and Kazi Tahera Khatun, Ward 6 Bhaduria union team leader Humayun Kabir, team leader Sanjida Akter, and members of the Parharina Ansar and VDP club.

Speaking at the event, upazila Ansar-VDP officer Solaiman said: “On the instructions of the respected commandant of Dinajpur’s Ansar and Village Defence Party, this palm seed planting programme is being carried out along the roadside next to the Parharina Ansar and VDP club. Palm trees are gradually disappearing. This initiative has been taken to help prevent deaths from natural disasters and lightning strikes, protect environmental balance, and ensure a green environment for future generations.”
