Dex News: The Weather Observer Team (BWOT) has informed that a new rain system is approaching; this rain system could enter Bangladesh from the country’s northern regions on May 12 or 13. The BWOT shared this information in a Facebook post.

The BWOT states that due to the rain system, there could be intermittent thunderstorms in various parts of the country for up to 9 days. Especially in the northern and northeastern regions, there could be intense lightning strikes. The Rangpur, Mymensingh, and Sylhet divisions are expected to be the most affected areas.

The BWOT further states that this rain system could enter Bangladesh from the northern regions on May 12 or 13 and remain active until May 20. However, it may not rain continuously and could affect different areas intermittently.

According to the organization’s forecast, the Rangpur, Mymensingh, and Sylhet divisions will experience the most activity from this rain system. At the same time, there is a strong likelihood of severe lightning strikes in the districts of the northern and northeastern regions.

In contrast, the impact of this rain system could be relatively lesser in the southern regions of the country, especially in the Khulna and Barishal divisions. It is expected that the weather there will remain mostly normal, although there could be occasional light thunderstorms for a day or two, which will not bring about any significant changes.
