Bangladesh received $567 million in remittances in the first five days of July 2026, a 38.1% increase over the $411 million received in the same period of July 2025.

Bangladesh Bank spokesperson Arif Hossain Khan disclosed the figures in a statement on Monday.

On July 5 alone, expatriate Bangladeshis sent home $219 million in remittances.

The strong inflow at the start of fiscal year 2026-27 reflects the continued positive trend in remittances, one of the country’s primary sources of foreign currency earnings.
