Zahid Ahsan, president of Jatiya Chhatrashakti — the student wing of the National Citizen Party (NCP) — has resigned from his post, citing personal reasons.

The organization’s office secretary, Mahfuzur Rahman, confirmed the resignation on Wednesday (Sept. 2).

He said Zahid Ahsan resigned as president of the central committee at Jatiya Chhatrashakti’s fifth general meeting, citing personal reasons.

Based on the views of central committee members present at the meeting and a unanimous decision, senior vice-president Ahsan Labib has been given charge as acting president. Following Zahid Ahsan’s resignation, Ahsan Labib will carry out the organization’s duties as acting president.
