Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami central majlis-e-shura member and Moulvibazar district ameer, Engineer Md Sayed Ali, has said that if we can organise our lives according to the Quran and Sunnah in the modern age, it is possible to meet today’s challenges and build a golden society and state. He said Jamaat-e-Islami has been pursuing exactly this effort in Bangladesh for the past 54 years. If we can run our lives, society and state in the light of the Quran and Sunnah, he said, the inequality and mismanagement present in society today would no longer exist.
He made these remarks as chief guest at a dawah gathering in Ward No. 4, Kagabala union, of Moulvibazar sadar upazila. The event was held Tuesday night at Kagabala Bazar, chaired by union president Foyez Ahmed and moderated by secretary Sumon Ahmed. Special guests included Moulvibazar sadar upazila ameer Md Fakhrul Islam and upazila karma and shura member Dewan Ashik Al Rashid Chowdhury. Also present were vice-president Oliur Rahman Talukder, Amtail union secretary Ashraful Islam, and youth wing union president Sharaf Uddin.
He further said a mass uprising took place in 2024, in which everyone, from the young to the elderly, took to the streets. He said they wanted nothing for themselves — they did not want money. What they wanted was a transformed, inequality-free new Bangladesh. He said it was unfortunate that, although the nation united around the promise of change in the February 12 election, and the people of this country cast their votes twice in pursuit of that change, with everyone voting responsibly in a festive atmosphere, the results began to be altered after midnight. He said their Ameer-e-Jamaat had accepted that outcome for the sake of keeping the country stable. He said their hope was that the new government, once formed, would honour the aspirations of July and implement the July charter.
