A rumour spread on social media from Monday that Indian television actor Shalin Bhanot is set to remarry actress and former wife Dalljiet Kaur. As the rumour surfaced, Shalin responded, saying the report about Dalljiet is not true — and warning of legal action over the spread of false information.
Shalin recently attended a special screening in Mumbai of director Imtiaz Ali’s new project “Main Wapas Aunga.” A video from the event was shared on social media with the claim that the actor was about to restart his life with former wife Dalljiet Kaur. As the video spread quickly, Shalin protested in a comment: “This is completely false and fabricated news.” He said: “As a media platform, it is your professional responsibility to verify information before publishing. Spreading such baseless news about someone’s personal life merely to gain views is not acceptable.” He called on the page concerned to delete the post immediately and apologise publicly, warning of legal action otherwise.
Shalin Bhanot and Dalljiet Kaur met on the set of the popular television serial “Kulvaddhu,” where their relationship began; they married in 2009. Five years into the marriage, their son Jaydon was born in 2014. But strains grew over time, and Dalljiet later accused Shalin of mental and physical abuse and infidelity, filing an FIR with police. After a long legal battle, the couple formally divorced in 2015. Dalljiet married Kenya-based businessman Nikhil Patel in 2023; that marriage did not last either, and the actress announced their separation in 2024.
