After a long break, the actress Sumaiya Shimu was to have returned to serial drama with Mostofa Kamal Raz’s Fire Ashar Golpo. She was delighted about the serial. Then it emerged suddenly that Sumaiya Shimu would not be in it. Dipa Khondokar is playing the role in her place.
Shimu was to have played the character of Rukaiya in Fire Ashar Golpo. Of the role, Shimu had said she had been missing acting and was very happy to be back in front of the camera, and that it was the kind of story and character to return with after a break. But she will not now become Rukaiya on screen.
She said she had become aware of a viral infection in her eye, but shot the day after the press conference. Her eye swelled that day and the pain increased. Because of the eye problem she has had to withdraw from the shoot on her doctor’s advice.
Dipa Khondokar was already attached to the drama. She was to have played the character of Mariam. Rosy Siddiqui has recently joined in that role.
The director and the production company Cinemawala have not yet formally announced the change of cast in the serial Fire Ashar Golpo. All the photographs from Sumaiya Shimu’s photoshoot have, however, been removed from the company’s Facebook page, and Rosy Siddiqui has been newly introduced in the role of Mariam.
Although Sumaiya Shimu cannot take part, Zahid Hasan and Tanjim Saiyara Totini have returned to serial drama after a long time with Fire Ashar Golpo. Others acting in it include Shahiduzzaman Selim, Khairul Basar, Monira Mithu, Faizul Yamin, Mahmudul Islam Mithu, Mukit Zakaria, Ejazul Islam and Raju.
The serial Fire Ashar Golpo begins on the Cinemawala YouTube channel from October 7. It will be shown at midday every Wednesday and Thursday. Shooting is currently in full swing.
