‘Tarafdar Bari’ holds free medical camp in Narail

A free medical camp providing treatment and medicine has been held in Narail on the initiative of “Tarafdar Bari.”

Under the slogan “We Tarafdars are one family,” the day-long camp was held on Saturday (May 30) on the grounds of Tularampur Secondary School in Sadar upazila. Some 300 men, women and children were given treatment along with medicine.

Treatment was provided by gynaecologists Dr Tarafdar Shamsunnahar Lucky and Tarafdar Maria Hossain; medicine, hormone and diabetes specialist Dr Dip Biswas Sudip; medicine and child specialist Dr Husain Mohsinul Haque; and neuro-medicine specialist Dr Golam Azam Russel.

Those who received the free treatment and medicine were all very pleased. Champa Ara, 30, of Tularampur village said: “I’m happy to get treatment close to home. The area’s children came home during the Eid holidays and treated us. Such events benefit the people of the village.”

Diabetic patient Afzal Hossain said: “I received medicine along with treatment. It felt very good.”

Engineer Habib Tarafdar Shaheen, the camp’s patron, said the initiative was made possible by the Tarafdar family’s organisation and the cooperation of locals, and that such medical services will be held again in the future.
