Jamaat-e-Islami, parliament’s main opposition party, will publish a “shadow budget” ahead of the 2026-27 fiscal year’s national budget. The party will present the shadow budget at a press conference at the Al Falah auditorium in Moghbazar in the capital on Tuesday afternoon. Jamaat assistant secretary general and head of the central media and publicity department Ehsanul Mahbub Zubair said the opposition leader and Jamaat ameer Shafiqur Rahman and other top party leaders would attend the press conference for the shadow budget’s release.
Last Friday, a “shadow budget” was also presented by the NCP, a partner in the Jamaat-led 11-party alliance, which divided the country’s economy into 12 sectors and made 71 proposals.
