Police have recovered the unidentified body of a young man from a ghat at Talpukurpar in Comilla city. The body was recovered around 8am on Tuesday (September 15).
After completing the inquest report, the body was sent to Comilla Medical College Hospital morgue for a post-mortem examination. A CID team has been informed to help determine the deceased’s age and identity.
Police believe the young man may have died sometime during the night. The body was found without any clothing.
Kotwali Model police station’s officer-in-charge (OC), Touhidul Anwar, confirmed the matter, saying a team from Kandirpar police outpost went to the scene after receiving the report in the morning and recovered the body. The deceased’s identity could not be immediately confirmed. Some locals claimed the man was mentally unstable, but police said this could only be confirmed after investigation.
