Final admission to class eleven for the 2026-27 academic year began on Sunday (September 20). Selected students can be admitted to their designated college up to September 22. Under the rules, there is no scope for taking money from a student beyond the fees approved by the board. All approved fees must be taken with a proper receipt. A breach of the rules can also cost a college its teaching approval or recognition and its MPO status. In the case of government colleges, action will be taken against those responsible under the regulations.

The inter-education board said classes for class eleven will begin on September 24, once admission is complete.

Clause 5.7 of the rules states that no money may be taken from any student beyond the fees approved by the board, and that all approved fees must be taken by issuing a proper receipt.

For admission to private colleges, a list of the admission fee, monthly fees and all other costs must be displayed on the college’s own notice board and website.

Once admission is complete, students may change college, group and subject on the basis of a board notice, subject to the board’s permission and payment of the necessary fee. There is no scope, however, for changing from another group to the science group. A student who has passed from the science group and been admitted to another group has no opportunity to return to science later.

No institution may in any circumstances hand the original academic transcript of a student who passed the SSC or an equivalent examination from that institution to any person or institution other than the student or their guardian, nor may it withhold a student’s academic transcript on any other pretext. If such a complaint is received, the board will take the necessary steps against the institution and teacher concerned after an investigation.

When submitting the list of admitted students, every institution must separately submit a statement of the other fees it has taken, head by head, along with the statement of fees set by the board.

Colleges and equivalent institutions must publish on their notice board and website an admission notice setting out the number of seats fixed by the board (for the science, humanities and business studies groups, and by shift, male, female, co-education and version), the admission fee and all other approved fees set by the board, the minimum qualifications for admission and related information. Institutions must take the necessary steps to waive fees as far as possible for the admission of students with special needs.
