Police recovered the body of a young man hanging from the branch of a chatim tree in the Santahar Railway Yard Colony area of Adamdighi upazila, Bogura. Local residents spotted the body hanging from the tree Sunday morning and alerted police, who arrived at the scene and recovered it.
The deceased, Md. Bandhon, 23, was the son of Masud Rana of the Yard Colony neighborhood in Santahar municipal town.
Locals allege the incident may not simply be a suicide, and that he may have been deliberately killed and his body hung from the tree afterward.
Adamdighi police station OC Kamruzzaman Mia said the body has been sent to the morgue at Bogura’s Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College (Shajimec) Hospital. An unnatural death (UD) case has been filed. The exact cause of death can only be confirmed after the postmortem report and police investigation are complete.
