A teenager named Shrabon Sarkar, 15, was killed in a tragic bus collision on the Ajmiriganj-Baniyachong road in Habiganj. Two other teenagers on the same motorcycle narrowly escaped with their lives. The accident took place around 10:30am on Wednesday in the local Pithabari area, while they were travelling from Ajmiriganj toward Baniyachong.
According to local sources, Shrabon Sarkar and two other teenagers were travelling on a motorcycle from Ajmiriganj toward Baniyachong. When they reached the Pithabari area, a bus struck their motorcycle from behind. Shrabon, who was riding at the back of the motorcycle, was thrown onto the road and critically injured. He died at the scene. The other two teenagers on the motorcycle narrowly escaped with their lives.
The deceased, Shrabon Sarkar, 15, was a resident of Bidyabhushan Para, near Babur Bazar, in Ward No. 2 (North-West union) of Baniyachong upazila’s headquarters. He was the younger son of Sundar Sarkar. Shrabon worked at a salon in Baniyachong’s Notun Bazar.
The identity of the bus was not immediately known after the accident. On being informed, police from Baniyachong and Ajmiriganj police stations visited the scene. Police said the matter is being investigated to determine the exact cause of the accident and identify the bus.
