Prime Minister Tareque Rahman has made financial donations to various places of worship in the capital’s Dhaka-17 constituency. Alongside mosques and madrasas, the donations were also given to various temples ahead of the upcoming Sharadiya Durga Puja.
The prime minister handed over donation cheques to officials of the relevant mosques and temples within Dhaka-17 constituency at the BNP chairperson’s office in Gulshan, the capital, on Friday afternoon.
Donation cheques of 2.47 lakh taka each were given to 28 mosques in the Dhaka-17 constituency area. In addition, a total of 30 lakh taka in financial donations was given to 10 temples at 3 lakh taka each, marking the upcoming Sharadiya Durga Puja.
The financial assistance was provided to support the activities of religious institutions and to ensure the Sharadiya Durga Puja celebrations proceed smoothly.
