Three more children died of measles-like symptoms nationwide over the past 24 hours. This brings the total number of deaths from measles-like symptoms to 829. During the same period, 940 more children were newly hospitalized with measles or measles-like symptoms.
The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) disclosed this information in its measles report Friday, August 21. According to the report, of the three children who died of measles-like symptoms over the past 24 hours, one was from Dhaka, one from Sylhet, and one from Khulna.
DGHS data shows that of the 940 children hospitalized over the past 24 hours, 64 were confirmed to have measles. In addition, 876 children were admitted with measles-like symptoms.
