The bodies of nine of the 16 Bangladeshis killed in a fire at a sofa-manufacturing factory in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, will be brought home Thursday, August 27.
The Ministry of Expatriates’ Welfare and Overseas Employment disclosed the information Wednesday, August 26.
The ministry said the bodies of nine of the 16 Bangladeshis killed in the fire at the Riyadh sofa factory will arrive in Bangladesh Thursday, on Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight BG 340, landing at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at 4 p.m.
The nine victims have been identified through fingerprint analysis. They are: Md Farid, Md Rubel Pramanik, Md Sohel Rana, Md Kalimuddin, Md Mohan Ali, Md Suman Ali and Abdul Jalil Sardar, all of Naogaon; Rabiul Islam of Natore; and Md Shyamal Uddin Majhi of Rajshahi.
The bodies will be handed over to family members at the airport’s cargo gate.
The fire at the sofa-manufacturing factory in Riyadh, which killed 16 Bangladeshis, occurred on August 9.
