Microfinance and development organization Bangladesh Extension Education Services (BEES) celebrated its 50th anniversary, or golden jubilee, on Saturday, August 22. The daylong event, held with great fanfare at ICCB in the capital, brought together nearly 5,000 officials and staff from the organization across different parts of the country.
The information was disclosed in a press release from BEES. It said the golden jubilee celebration centered on BEES founder and senior adviser Saiful Islam Robin, who was given special recognition at the event.
The event, chaired by BEES Chairman Mohammad Ismail, had Professor Mohammad Helal Uddin, executive vice chairman of MRA, as chief guest. Md Fazlul Kader, managing director of PKSF, attended as special guest. Also present were BEES Executive Director Iqbal Ahammed; LankaBangla Finance Managing Director Humaira Azam; Credit and Development Forum (CDF) Chairman Murshed Alam Sarker; Mercantile Bank DMD and CBO Md Zahid Hossain; and BEES Microfinance Director and Golden Jubilee Celebration Committee Chairman Md Manjurul Islam.
