Chandpur Sadar Model Police Station has detained gold trader Pintu Das, who had gone missing and was found hiding in the Patiya area of Chattogram. His wife, Rimi, and their two sons were with him at the time. He was detained along with his family during an operation around 5 a.m. Friday. The operation was led by Chandpur Sadar Model Police Station Sub-Inspector Kalam.
According to police, gold trader Pintu had been in hiding since he went missing. Acting on tip-off information, police confirmed his location and detained him during an operation in the Patiya area of Chattogram.
Chandpur Additional Superintendent of Police Lutfor Rahman said: “Following leads from CCTV footage showing goods being loaded onto a truck, we were able to recover Pintu Das along with his family. We had earlier learned that he went missing on August 22. His wife, Rimi, and their two sons are with Pintu Das.”
Sadar Model Police Station Sub-Inspector (SI) Kalam told reporters the operation succeeded after two days. He said Pintu had gone into hiding with his family mainly because of pressure from debt. The process of bringing him back to Chandpur is under way following his detention. Police investigation into the matter continues for further details.
