Police have recovered the partly decomposed body of an unidentified person, with the hands and feet bound, in Sreenagar upazila, Munshiganj.
The body was recovered at around noon on Tuesday from a piece of farmland beside the Hasara-Singpara KC road in the upazila.
Local people said they noticed a strong smell from the area while travelling along the KC road. Searching nearby, they saw a partly decomposed body lying in the field with the hands and feet bound, and informed the police. Sreenagar police reached the scene on receiving the news and recovered the body. The person’s identity was not immediately known.
Sreenagar police station’s officer-in-charge (investigation), Milton Datta, said the body of this unidentified man had been left there with the hands and feet bound three or four days ago. The PBI team has been informed, he said, and it will be possible to establish the identity by taking the body’s fingerprints when they arrive.
