Police have recovered the body of an unidentified woman from a fish-farming canal in Bheramara, Kushtia.
The body was seen floating in the canal on the east side of the railway line, in the ward 3 area of Chandgram union in the upazila, at around 11am on Tuesday. Police recovered the body on receiving the news.
Bheramara police station’s officer-in-charge, Muhammad Zahedur Rahman, said work to identify the body and confirm who she was is continuing. The body has been sent to hospital for a post-mortem examination to establish the cause of death and other information. Bheramara police are present at the scene conducting the investigation, he said.
