Couple electrocuted in Shailkupa

A husband and wife have died from electrocution in Shailkupa, Jhenaidah, according to reports.

The incident occurred Wednesday morning, August 26, in Madhabpur village in the upazila.

According to local residents, Amar Bhowmik and his wife Meenakshi Rani of Madhabpur village were injured by electrocution while cutting grass with a grass-cutting machine that morning. They were rescued and taken to Shailkupa Upazila Health Complex for treatment, where doctors declared them dead.

A local resident named Mukul said the electric current from the cattle-fodder cutting machine spread through the area, electrocuting both the husband and wife, resulting in their deaths.

Humayun Kabir Molla, officer-in-charge of the police station, confirmed that the husband and wife died from electrocution involving a grass-cutting machine in Madhabpur village.
