A teacher named Qari Ibrahim died after suddenly falling ill while teaching a class at a madrasa in Raipur, Lakshmipur. The incident occurred around 9:30 a.m. Monday, August 17, on the grounds of Hazrat Khadijatul Kobra (RA) Dakhil Madrasa in the Modhho Sagordi area of the upazila.
Madrasa sources said Qari Ibrahim suddenly fell ill while teaching a class. He was taken to Raipur Upazila Health Complex, where the doctor on duty declared him dead. It is believed he suffered a stroke.
It is further understood that Qari Ibrahim had taught at Modhho Sagordi Hazrat Khadijatul Kobra (RA) Dakhil Madrasa for nearly 20 years. Alongside teaching, he was also involved in Quran instruction.
His first funeral prayer was held Monday after Zuhr prayers at the Modhho Sagordi Jame Mosque grounds. His body was then taken to his ancestral village in the Char Lorenj area of Sonapur, Noakhali, where, following the funeral prayer there, he was buried in the family graveyard after Asr prayers.
Madrasa superintendent Mawlana Imran Bin Nazir said: “Qari Ibrahim taught at this madrasa with dedication and responsibility for nearly 20 years. With his sudden death, we have lost an experienced teacher and a good person. All teachers, students, and everyone associated with the madrasa are deeply grieved by his death.”
Madrasa Vice-President and Raipur Press Club General Secretary Harunur Rashid said: “Qari Ibrahim was an honest, skilled, and responsible teacher. His sudden death while teaching a class at his workplace is extremely painful. We are deeply grieved by his death. May Almighty God forgive him, grant him a place in paradise, and give his grieving family the strength to bear this irreparable loss.”
Madrasa teachers, students, and local residents have prayed for the departed’s soul and expressed condolences to his grieving family.
