A young man named Shawon, 30, died in Gobindaganj, Gaibandha, after his motorcycle hit a tree while he was filming video content. The motorcycle was completely mangled in the crash.
The accident occurred around 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Islampur Current Mor area on the Gobindaganj-Rajabirat regional road in the upazila.
The deceased, Shawon, was a resident of Daridaha Sardarpara village in Mokamtala upazila, Bogura. Local residents said he had returned from working abroad a few months earlier and gotten married.
Local resident Abdul Alim said he had heard that Shawon made video content and posted it on Facebook. In keeping with that, he went out Monday morning on his motorcycle to create content. He lost control along the way, and the motorcycle struck a tree beside the road, killing Shawon at the scene.
Gobindaganj Police Station Officer-in-Charge Muhammad Mozammel Haque confirmed the incident, saying the body has been recovered and taken to the police station. It will be handed over to relatives after legal procedures are completed.
