Natalie Harp is one of US President Donald Trump’s closest and most loyal aides. Fresh discussion about her has recently erupted in Washington. The reason: Trump reportedly said that Natalie loves him the same way his wife, Melania, and his children do.

Thirty-five-year-old Natalie Harp works as Trump’s executive assistant. The matter came back into the spotlight after Democratic Senator Jon Ossoff raised the subject of her close relationship with Trump at a rally on August 16.

Ossoff said Trump wants to build his White House ballroom and wants to travel with Natalie aboard the aircraft gifted by the Emir of Qatar.

Republicans then sharply criticized Ossoff’s remarks. A White House spokesperson attacked him in insulting language.

Public interest in Trump’s relationship with Harp grew further after a CNN reporter questioned Trump about Senator Ossoff’s remarks. The White House’s social media account later posted a rebuke targeting that reporter.

Amid all this, old information about letters expressing Harp’s deep affection for Trump has resurfaced. The book “Regime Change” mentions one such letter, in which Harp reportedly wrote: “You are everything to me.”

The book’s authors are New York Times journalists Maggie Haberman and Jonathan Swan. Published this past June, the book says Trump told his staff that no one loves him the way Melania does — except Natalie Harp.

Trump reportedly told staff: “You’ll all leave eventually and go make money. But she [Natalie] will never leave me.”

How Harp grew close to Trump

Before joining Trump’s election campaign in 2022, Natalie Harp worked as a presenter on the right-wing television channel One America News Network. There, she regularly spoke in Trump’s favor.

She and Trump first met during his first term. Harp had claimed that a law approved by Trump in 2018 gave her access to experimental treatment for bone cancer.

Harp held no official position during Trump’s campaign. But she would travel with Trump carrying a portable printer, printing out media coverage of Trump and handing it to him. That earned her the nickname “the human printer.”

After Trump became president again in 2025, Harp was appointed executive assistant at the White House. She has also served as an important conduit for various individuals and groups seeking access to Trump.

Natalie is frequently seen in the Oval Office. According to The New York Times, she also works late into the night helping draft posts for Trump’s social media accounts.

“Regime Change” says that when Trump asked staff about changing the gold-colored decor at the White House, his close aide Harp would enthusiastically praise him.

Questions over security clearance

Another matter involving Natalie Harp has also recently come under scrutiny. A report by US outlet MS NOW says Harp worked at the White House for more than a year without undergoing the standard security vetting required of West Wing staff.

According to the report, Natalie had, for reasons unknown, repeatedly declined to undergo this security vetting. Such vetting typically involves collecting information including a person’s previous residences, financial history and foreign contacts.

Trump himself reportedly intervened on the matter afterward. Natalie subsequently applied for the security vetting and recently received clearance.

A national security official, speaking on condition of anonymity, said that because of her proximity to the president, Natalie has greater access to sensitive information than many other senior White House officials.

However, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said: “Natalie Harp has security clearance just like everyone else. She is a loyal and hardworking member of President Trump’s team.”

‘An unhealthy relationship’

First Lady Melania Trump reportedly did not take the news of Natalie’s closeness with Trump well. A source close to the White House told US outlet Semafor: “The first lady doesn’t like this kind of thing.”

Natalie’s brother, Preston Harp, has also commented on his sister’s relationship with Trump. Speaking to CNN on Tuesday, he described the relationship as an “unhealthy addiction.”

Preston claims his sister had written letters to other presidents before Trump as well. Asked about her close relationship with Trump and her significant role at the White House, he said: “Her dream has finally come true.”

The Telegraph contacted the White House for comment on this information about the relationship between Natalie Harp and Trump, but no comment was received.
