She was arrested from her home in the Kazipara area of Domar municipality on Friday (September 11) afternoon. Rupa is the wife of the late Mizanur Rahman of the Chhoto Rauta Kazipara area.
Police sources said Rupa Begum Sahida has long run a drug business from her home. She is known locally as a drug kingpin. She has previously served time in prison over multiple cases. She has 33 pending drug cases against her. Acting on a tip-off, police raided her home and arrested her with 10 tapentadol tablets.
Domar police station officer-in-charge (OC) Md Habibullah told Dhaka Post that she was arrested with 10 tapentadol tablets following a raid based on a tip-off. She has 33 drug cases pending in court. Another case will be filed against her, and she will be sent to court.
