Singer Sharmin Akter, champion of the “Channel i Bangla Gaan 2016” singing competition, has married fellow musician Sabbir Quraishi. The couple married at Gawsul Azam Mosque in the capital on Monday. Sharmin Akter herself shared the happy news of the wedding.
She said the wedding ceremony was held in the presence of members of both families.
The singer said: “Alhamdulillah, I’ve begun a new chapter of my life. Our wedding ceremony was completed in the presence of both our families. Please keep us in your prayers, so that we may build a happy, peaceful life together.”
Sharmin added: “Marriage is a very important decision in life. New responsibilities, a new relationship — altogether, it’s a different kind of feeling. I’ve begun this new journey with the love and prayers of my family and those close to me. I ask everyone for their prayers for us.”
