Four more members are set to join the cabinet led by Prime Minister Tareque Rahman. Newly elected President Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir will administer their oath tonight at Bangabhaban’s Darbar Hall. The information was confirmed Friday by sources at the Cabinet Division.
They are: BNP standing committee member Dr. Abdul Moyeen Khan, MP; Jatiya Party Chairman Barrister Andaleeve Rahman Partho, MP; Sachingprue Jerry, MP elected from Bandarban; and Mohammad Shameem Kaisar Lincoln, MP for Gaibandha-4.
Cabinet Division sources said further reshuffling of the cabinet is possible. As part of this, changes are possible at the Ministry of Civil Aviation, the Ministry of Agriculture, the Ministry of Food, the Ministry of Power and Energy, the Ministry of Local Government, and the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting.
Meanwhile, preparations at Bangabhaban’s Darbar Hall for the new president’s oath-taking ceremony have been completed. President’s Press Secretary Md Sarwar Alam said all arrangements for the oath-taking ceremony are finished, with the Cabinet Division running the event.
Cabinet Division officials said more than 1,200 guests have been invited to the president’s oath-taking ceremony.
Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir will take the oath as president at 7:30 p.m. at Bangabhaban’s Darbar Hall. Acting Speaker Kaiser Kamal will administer the oath to him.
The event will be conducted by Cabinet Secretary Nasimul Gani.
