Indian training aircraft crashes, killing 2 pilots

A training aircraft has crashed in Kanpur, in India’s Uttar Pradesh state, killing both the pilot and co-pilot. The exact cause of the crash is not yet known. Officials said the aircraft lost control before the crash.

The aircraft crashed into a wooded area during a training flight Thursday morning. It broke apart on impact. Local residents rushed to the scene immediately after the crash. Police and rescue teams arrived at the scene after being notified. An investigation into the incident has begun.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath expressed condolences to the families of the pilots killed in the crash.
