The Ministry of Public Administration has issued a notification appointing 184 more candidates under the 48th BCS (special) recruitment, including 165 assistant surgeons and 19 assistant dental surgeons. They must join the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare by September 7.
The information comes from a notification signed Tuesday, August 25, by Sabiha Fatematuzzohra, senior assistant secretary (new recruitment branch) at the Ministry of Public Administration.
The notification states that 184 candidates have been appointed to entry-level posts across various cadres of the Bangladesh Civil Service through the 48th BCS (special) examination-2025, with salaries ranging from 22,000 to 53,060 taka under the National Pay Scale 2015.
Conditions of the appointment include a requirement that new appointees undergo foundational training at the Bangladesh Public Administration Training Centre (BPATC) or another government-designated training institution. They must serve a two-year probationary period, which the government may extend by up to two more years if needed. If deemed unsuitable to continue in the post during the probationary period, an appointee may be dismissed without any explanation being required.
The first notification for the 48th BCS (special) recruitment was issued on January 22, appointing 3,263 candidates to various cadre posts.
The Bangladesh Public Service Commission published the final results of the 48th BCS (special) examination on September 11, 2025, nominating 2,820 candidates for assistant surgeon posts and 300 for assistant dental surgeon posts.
