A schoolboy named Sabbir Hossain, 10, has been electrocuted in Keshabpur upazila, Jashore.
The accident happened on Friday afternoon (September 25) in Harighop village of the upazila.
Sabbir was the son of Azharul Islam of Harighop village and a class three pupil.
According to locals and police, on Friday afternoon Sabbir touched an electricity pole in his village that had become live, and died on the spot. It is thought that the pole may have become live somehow because of several days of rain.
Keshabpur police station officer-in-charge Hafizur Rahman said an unnatural death case has been filed at the police station.
