Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) has seized a large quantity of smuggled Indian UV sunglasses and saris worth roughly Tk 2.225 million in an operation along the Fulgazi border in Feni.
The goods were seized during a special anti-smuggling operation Tuesday morning.
Lieutenant Colonel M M Zillur Rahman, commanding officer of 4 BGB’s Feni Battalion, said: “BGB’s regular and special operations to prevent smuggling in the border area will continue. At the same time, BGB remains constantly alert, vigilant, and active in preventing the spread of narcotics along the border, stopping illegal entry, ensuring overall border security, and curbing all forms of border crime.”
He added: “BGB will continue to carry out its operations to protect border security and control crime with the utmost professionalism, dedication, and responsibility going forward.”
