Saturday (September 19) is the 55th birthday of the actor Salman Shah. Had he lived, the popular hero of the 1990s would have completed 55 years on this day. Marking the occasion, the actress Shabnur, one of his best-known co-stars, has posted an emotional tribute.
In the post on Instagram, Shabnur wished Salman Shah a happy birthday, writing: “Happy birthday, dear Salman Shah!”
Recalling the 1990s she spent with Salman Shah, she wrote: “So many years have passed, and yet those golden days of the nineties still float before my eyes. On the shooting set you were not just a popular hero; you were a person with an extraordinary heart.”
Speaking of his humanity, Shabnur said: “You respected every person around you. Whether it was a member of the shooting unit or an ordinary performer, you never looked down on anyone. You asked after everyone, stood beside them when they needed it, and cared for them as your own. It is that beautiful heart and that humanity which have kept you so close to people’s hearts.”
Remembering him, Shabnur also wrote: “When I hear an old song, or a scene from one of your films catches my eye, it feels as though you have come back to those golden days.”
Praying for the late actor, Shabnur wrote: “May Almighty Allah forgive you and grant you the highest place in paradise.”
In the same post, Shabnur asked that no disrespectful comments be made about Salman Shah. She wrote: “A humble request to everyone: let none of us spread any false slander, belittlement or disrespectful remarks about our beloved Salman Shah. May our reverence and respect for a great departed artist always remain unbroken. Let us hold his immortal memory in our hearts with love and dignity.”
Born on September 19, 1971, Salman Shah died on September 6, 1996. In a film career of only four years he acted in 27 films. Among them, his pairing with Shabnur won enormous popularity with audiences. Notable films by the Salman-Shabnur pairing include Tumi Amar, Swapner Thikana, Anondo Osru and Chaowa Theke Paowa.
