Police have recovered the body of an unidentified man from the Shrimai canal in Patiya, Chattogram.
The body was recovered on Friday morning (September 25) from the Shrimai canal in ward 1 of North Chhanhara union in the upazila.
Locals said police were informed after a body was seen floating in the water of the Shrimai canal in the morning. Patiya police then went to the scene and recovered it.
Police inspector Mohammad Ziaul Haque of the police station confirmed the matter. “The body of an unidentified man has been recovered from the canal in North Chhanhara. He may be about 40 years old. Efforts are under way to identify him,” he said.
“The actual cause of death will be known only after the post-mortem report is received,” he said.
