Trolley driver killed after hitting parked truck in Narail

A brick-carrying trolley driver, Muttakabbir Sardar, 18, has died after his vehicle struck the rear of a parked truck on the Narail-Kalia road.

The accident occurred Wednesday afternoon, August 26, in front of Tushar Digital Diagnostic Center at Chachuri Bazar.

The deceased, Muttakabbir, was the son of Asgar Sardar of Kadamtala village in Kalia.

Police and local residents said the truck had been parked in the Chachuri Bazar area of the Narail-Kalia road on Wednesday afternoon to unload goods for a shop. Muttakabbir was traveling from Kalia toward Chachuri when he lost control of the trolley while coming down from a bridge and struck the rear of the stationary truck. Muttakabbir suffered fatal head injuries and died at the scene. The trolley’s assistant driver survived.

Idris Ali, officer-in-charge of Kalia police station, said the body would be handed over to the family after completion of legal procedures.
