3 arrested including union Jubo League president in Damurhuda drug case

Police in Damurhuda, Chuadanga, have arrested three people, including Hauli union Jubo League president Md Swapan, 60, as accused identified during the investigation of a narcotics case.

Police said the special operation was carried out under the overall direction of Chuadanga Superintendent of Police Mohammad Ruhul Kabir Khan and the supervision of Damurhuda Model Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Sheikh Mesbah Uddin.

During the operation, Md Swapan, president of Hauli union Jubo League and son of the late Rahim Bakhsh of Joyrampur Colonypara, an accused identified during the investigation of a narcotics case filed on August 6, was arrested from a paved road in the Joyrampur Colonypara area around 5:15 a.m. on August 21.

In addition, Md Yasin Ali, alias Kalu, 34, son of the late Ansar Ali of Hudapara, an accused identified during the investigation of another narcotics case filed on July 28, was arrested from his home at 2:15 a.m. on August 21. Another accused in the same case, Md Biplob, 22, of Joyrampur Malithapara, was arrested from his home at 9:15 p.m. on August 20.

Police said the three arrested have been sent to court. Operations to arrest those involved in various crimes, including recovering narcotics, illegal weapons and ammunition, remain under way.
