Young people brought about change on August 5, 2024, and can do so again this time by coming forward to build a clean Bangladesh, Prime Minister Tareque Rahman has said. If the youth choose to, they can change the country, he said.
He made the comments at the inauguration ceremony of a nationwide cleanliness campaign to prevent dengue, held at the south plaza of the National Parliament building around 9:30am Saturday.
On dengue prevention, he said that while 100 percent prevention may not be possible, 80 percent is achievable. The government will try to solve the dengue problem within three months, he said.
Tareque Rahman said: “Let’s clean up our surroundings for one hour every week. Let’s not litter on roads and streets indiscriminately. We all have to build this country together.” He called on people to keep themselves healthy while also keeping their families, society and the country healthy.
