Five people have died of dengue across Bangladesh in the past 24 hours. In the same period, 1,872 people were admitted to hospital.
According to Directorate General of Health Services data on Tuesday (September 22), a total of 195 people have died of dengue in the country so far this year, while 65,499 have been admitted to hospital.
Of the deaths in the past 24 hours, two were in Rajshahi division and one each in the Dhaka South and Dhaka North city corporation areas and Barisal division. Three of the dead were men and two were women.
Earlier, 1,753 people were admitted to hospital with dengue on September 16, 1,593 on September 15 and 1,571 on September 8.
