550 new dengue patients admitted to hospitals

No dengue deaths were recorded in the past 24 hours. During the same period, 550 dengue patients were admitted to hospitals across the country.

The information was disclosed in a dengue-related press release Wednesday, August 26, from the Directorate General of Health Services’ Health Emergency Operation Centre and Control Room.

Of the patients hospitalized with dengue in the past 24 hours, 348 were in Dhaka division, 45 in Mymensingh division, 102 in Chattogram division, 38 in Khulna division, eight in Rangpur division, six in Barishal division and three in Sylhet division. As of August 26 this year, a total of 31,380 people have been hospitalized nationwide with dengue.

A total of 88 people have died from dengue so far this year. So far this year, 29,652 dengue patients have recovered and been discharged from hospitals after treatment. Currently, 2,080 patients remain under treatment in hospitals. From January 1 to December 31, 2025, a total of 102,861 people were infected with dengue, and 413 died from the disease.

From January to December 31, 2024, a total of 101,214 people were infected with dengue, and 575 died from the disease.

From January 1 to December 31, 2023, a total of 1,705 people died from dengue, while 321,179 people were hospitalized with the disease.
