National Rural Development Day observed in Chuadanga

Chuadanga observed National Rural Development Day under the theme “Developed rural areas, prosperous nation, Bangladesh first.”

A rally, discussion meeting, and distribution of microcredit checks and tree saplings were held at 10am on Monday (July 6) to mark the occasion.

The program began with a rally from the district commissioner’s premises that toured the city’s main roads before returning to the starting point. A discussion meeting was then held at the district commissioner’s office conference room. Additional District Commissioner (overall) Nayan Kumar Rajbangshi presided over the meeting, moderated by Chuadanga Rural Development Board deputy director Zakirul Islam.

The meeting opened with a video on Bangladesh Rural Development Board’s various program activities, followed by a discussion on improving the lives of rural communities in Chuadanga through rural development initiatives.

Other speakers included former Chuadanga Government College principal Siddiqur Rahman, Sadar upazila executive officer Tithi Mitra, BRAC coordinator Manik Maximilian Rugga, municipal BNP president Sirajul Islam Moni, Chuadanga Press Club general secretary Shah Alam Sony, beneficiary Khadija Begum, and student Umme Halima, among others.

Also present were district planning department deputy director Dipak Kumar Saha, social services officer Zakir Hossain, district information officer Shilpi Mondal, TTC principal Mosabberuzzaman, district cooperative officer Kazi Babul Hossain, and Sadar upazila rural development officer Aminul Islam, among others.

The meeting concluded with the distribution of microcredit and small-entrepreneur loan checks, tree saplings, and incentive bonus checks for members of the Rural Development Adolescent Girls’ Association.
