A desired Bangladesh can gradually be built if everyone fulfills their responsibilities properly from their own positions, Prime Minister Tareque Rahman said. The current government is working to take the country to a better place, he said.
He made the remarks Thursday afternoon at a reception hosted by the “Mrittunjoyi Pochish” group at Zia Colony in Dhaka Cantonment, marking Eid ul-Adha.
Recalling his time at the cantonment, the prime minister said much of his childhood and a large part of his life are tied to the place.
After the reception, the prime minister exchanged Eid greetings with the soldiers present. He later inquired about the lives and well-being of soldiers stationed at the army mess.
Tareque Rahman planted a neem sapling on the army mess grounds and signed the visitors’ book.
After offering Zuhr prayers at the army mess mosque, the prime minister exchanged Eid greetings with the army officers and members present.
