Seven more children have died with measles symptoms in Bangladesh in the past 24 hours, according to the regular measles report of the Directorate General of Health Services issued on Sunday, 11 October. One child died in each of Dhaka, Chattogram, Khulna and Rangpur, and three in Sylhet.

According to the directorate, the total number of deaths from measles and its symptoms in the country since 15 March has risen to 1,162 children. Of them, 104 died of confirmed measles and 1,058 with measles symptoms.

The report said measles symptoms were found in 1,180 children in the past 24 hours, taking the total number of suspected infections to 205,028. Another 93 children had confirmed measles in the past 24 hours, taking the number of confirmed cases so far to 22,421.
