Russian President Vladimir Putin has told US President Donald Trump what Tehran wants in order to end the Iran war, the Kremlin has said.

Al Jazeera reported on Saturday that Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told Russian media: “In coordination with Iran’s president, Putin conveyed to Trump Iran’s position on a possible resolution of the conflict.”

Trump said on Friday that he had reached an understanding with Putin under which Russia will be able to export more than 1 million tonnes of diesel in the coming months. Russia will be allowed these exports despite US sanctions.

Trump said he made the arrangement to bring down fuel prices on the world market. Fuel prices have risen sharply because of the war by the United States and Israel against Iran.
