Arms-making workshop linked to 'Moyez gang' uncovered in Pabna's Atghoria

ATGHORIA, Pabna — Police uncovered a weapons-making workshop at a hideout of the so-called Moyez gang in the remote Chatra beel area of Pabna’s Atghoria upazila during an early-morning raid Tuesday, seizing a large quantity of arms-manufacturing equipment.

Two people were detained at the scene.

Police said the Moyez gang had been carrying out various criminal activities for a long time in the remote Chatra beel area of Atghoria upazila, which falls under Ataikula police station. Acting on a tip-off, the Detective Branch (DB) and Ataikula police staged a special operation at the gang’s hideout in the beel early Tuesday.

Police recovered weapon molds, cutting machines, drilling machines, iron plates, gunpowder and a large quantity of other arms-making materials from the hideout concealed in the beel, they said.
