Army recovers 'Made in India' pistol in Jhenaidah raid

JHENAIDAH — Bangladesh Army recovered an abandoned pistol marked “Made in India,” along with rounds of ammunition and sharp weapons, during a raid in Jhenaidah’s Kaliganj upazila, police said. No one was arrested.

Police said one Masud fled the scene during the raid in the Sarabaria area. From the courtyard of his home, troops recovered the Indian pistol, three rounds of ammunition and two sharp daos. Masud Hossain, who is on the run, faces more than 10 cases including weapons and murder charges.

Kaliganj Police Station Officer-in-Charge Shafiqul Islam said an army team conducted the raid late Sunday night and recovered the weapons and ammunition in an abandoned state.
