KHULNA — Attackers fired gunshots and hurled bombs at a Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) office near the IT Gate of Khulna University of Engineering and Technology (KUET) on Sunday, killing a 55-year-old school teacher, police said.
The teacher, Imadul Haque, was an instructor at Bachitala Nurani Hafizia Madrasa. He had previously taught at Yusuf School, family members said.
Three others were seriously wounded, including Mamun Sheikh, 45, organizing secretary of Jogipol Union BNP and a former union council member. The other wounded were identified as Bellal Khan, 55, and Mizanur Rahman, 58. All were admitted to Khulna Medical College Hospital, police said.
Mamun Sheikh was sitting with local party workers at the office around 9 p.m. Sunday when assailants suddenly fired four rounds and threw two bombs at the building before fleeing, police said. Haque, who was at the office to collect donations for a waz mahfil after evening prayers, died while undergoing treatment.

We have learned that one of them is in critical condition,” said Mohammad Shafiqul Islam, assistant commissioner for media at Khulna Metropolitan Police. “Police are at the scene.
