CHUADANGA — The announcement of Chuadanga district BNP general secretary Sharifuzzaman Sharif as the party’s candidate in Chuadanga-1 has triggered new enthusiasm in the district’s politics.
On hearing of his final nomination, Sharifuzzaman Sharif expressed gratitude to former Prime Minister Khaleda Zia and party leader Tarique Rahman. He then offered nafl prayers in thanks to Allah and, along with party leaders and workers, visited the graves of his late parents.
From there he returned to his home in Chuadanga town, where he exchanged greetings with party workers. Speaking to those present, he said he remained firmly committed to working in the ideals of the late Ziaur Rahman and under the direction of Tarique Rahman. His sole aim from now on, he said, was to set aside differences and work in unity to secure victory for the BNP’s “sheaf of paddy” symbol. He told the gathered workers that everyone must work together to ensure that win.
