RAJSHAHI — Applications for first-year undergraduate honors admissions to Rajshahi University for the 2025-26 academic year will open Friday, Nov. 20, at noon and run through Dec. 7 at 11:59 p.m., the university said. Professor Md. Saiful Islam, director of the university’s ICT Center, confirmed the schedule Wednesday, Nov. 19, saying applications would begin as previously scheduled.

According to the admission notice, the entrance test for the “C” (science) unit will be held Jan. 16, the “A” (humanities) unit on Jan. 17, and the “B” (business) unit on Jan. 24. The tests will be held in two shifts, from 11 a.m. to noon and from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. Test centers will be set up in the Rajshahi, Dhaka, Chattogram, Khulna, Rangpur, and Barishal divisions.

The “A” unit covers the faculties of arts, law, social sciences, and fine arts, along with the Institute of Education and Research. The “B” unit covers the faculty of business studies and the Institute of Business Administration. The “C” unit covers the faculties of science, agriculture, engineering, biological sciences, geosciences, fisheries, and veterinary and animal sciences.

Students who passed their HSC or equivalent exams in 2024 or 2025 may apply to all three units depending on their eligibility. Whichever unit applicants choose, the eligibility requirements correspond to the stream they studied at the HSC level. Students who passed HSC or equivalent, diploma-in-commerce, BFA (preliminary), vocational HSC under the Bangladesh Technical Education Board, or A-level exams are eligible to apply.

Applicants from the humanities and business streams must have at least a 3.00 GPA in their SSC and HSC exams separately and a minimum combined GPA of 7.00, including the fourth subject. Science applicants must have a minimum 3.50 GPA in each exam and a combined GPA of 8.00. Diploma-in-engineering graduates’ GPAs will be calibrated on a 5.00 scale. GCE O-level candidates must pass five subjects, and A-level candidates must pass at least two. Across both levels, applicants must score at least a B in four subjects and a C in three of seven total. Candidates wishing to take the test in English must complete an additional form during final application. Unit, department, or institute conditions may also apply. All applicants who meet the requirements will be allowed to sit for the test.

Application fees are 1,320 taka for the “A” unit, 1,100 taka for the “B” unit, and 1,320 taka for the “C” unit, all inclusive of a 10% service charge.

The one-hour MCQ-format test will include 80 questions per unit. One mark will be deducted for every four wrong answers. The pass mark is 40. Candidates applying under quota categories — children of freedom fighters, ethnic minorities, persons with disabilities, athletes, and BKSP — must follow the instructions provided online.
