Opposition leader and Jamaat-e-Islami ameer Dr Shafiqur Rahman has expressed deep grief over the tragic train crash in Spain in which at least 39 people were killed and many more injured.
He expressed his grief in a post on his Facebook page on Wednesday.
“At this difficult time I offer my sincere condolences to the bereaved families and express deep solidarity with the people of Spain. I extend my sympathy and compassion to those killed and injured in this terrible accident and to everyone affected,” the Jamaat ameer said in the post.
“I hope the injured will recover quickly and that the ongoing rescue and emergency humanitarian work will bring as much help as possible to everyone in distress. At this moment of grief Bangladesh stands beside the people of Spain and expresses its solidarity with them,” he said.
According to the latest reports, at least 64 people have been killed in the accident.
