Speaking to reporters after voting, Jamaat candidate Delawar Hossain said he was fully hopeful of victory if voters could cast their ballots without hindrance and the election was held fairly.
BNP candidate Mirza Faisal Amin said after voting: “I have no fears about the election. Even if turnout is low because of the weather, I am fully hopeful of victory.”
Of the three other candidates, Abdul Alim Nizami of Khelafat Andolan and Hussain Muhammad Omar Faruk of Bangladesh Congress cannot vote because they are not residents of Thakurgaon. Islami Andolan candidate Khademul Islam voted at his own centre in Borogaon.
