Nahid Islam, convener of the National Citizen Party (NCP) and opposition chief whip, said on Saturday (7 November): “Someone wants to come in December, and we are ready.”
He was speaking at a reception for first-year students of the 2025-26 academic session at Noakhali Science and Technology University (NSTU).
“Last time, students and the public showed a great deal of generosity,” Nahid Islam said. “Like martyr Osman Hadi, we showed fairness even to our enemies.”
“This time that path will not be followed. We are ready to see Apa sent to the gallows,” he said.
The event was organised by the university unit of Chhatra Shakti. NCP senior joint member secretary Sarjis Alam, joint convener and member of parliament Hannan Masud, and other central leaders of the NCP and Chhatra Shakti attended.
Students of the 2025-26 session from the university’s departments took part in the reception, and the presence of the central leaders drew an enthusiastic response from the new students.
